NEW! AERIAL PHOTOS OF MT. WHITNEY. (Click on the GALLERY button on the left, then AIR WHITNEY-1.)
Mount Whitney at 14,497.61 feet is the highest mountain in the contiguous
U.S. Because of this and because there is a wonderful trail to the top,
it is also one of the most climbed mountains in the U.S. Every year thousands of
climbers attempt the summit with many making it to the top.
Mount Whitney is also one of the most beautiful mountains to photograph.
Its jagged peak and accompanying needles and pinnacles which pierce the cobalt blue
sky offers endless photographic opportunities. This portfolio also includes some of the
lesser known areas within the Whitney region, including Horseshoe Meadow, Wonoga Peak, Owens Point
and the stark, abstract Alabama Hills which rest at the base of Mount Whitney.
